Weekly Game Reports

Week 2

Seahawks (from Coach Sumit

If you’ve ever wondered what happens when you mix hand sanitizer, gloves and rain: don’t, it sucks! Hawks win 6-2 in week 2 victory over the Coquitlam Chargers. Our kids played stellar defence in the rain and did not allow any touch downs or first downs the entire game. The game was tied 0-0 at half time. Ryson scored a touch down in the second half on and end-to-end jukin’ and jivin’ individual effort. He put the game away on the last drive of the game with a huge first down. Great play by our rookies Jackson, Tias and Dilan. Joshua stepped up on defence. Jora was a stud and ran the ball very well. Ryson did what Ryson does. Player of the game: our QB, Logan, who made half time adjustments with Coach Chris and led our team to the win. We missed Arjan who sat out today fighting a cold. We missed you AK. Hawks 2-0!!!!!!

TBirds (from Coach Cristian)

Today the TBirds we’re defeated 48-18. We were able to put some points on the board with 2 nice runs from Aamir Khangura and Jaxon Hardy getting in for a score. We had some good flagging by Noah Sidhu, Jaxon Hardy, Aamir Khangura and Devan Ahuja who also had a nice run for a 1st down. Marcus Burden had a couple good runs for first downs. Our O line was blocking good and giving our running backs and QB time to develop plays. Also an honourable mention to the whole team for going out there in the cold and soggy field and playing there hearts out. So as a team we will work hard to prepare for our next game. Go TBirds Players of the game Aamir Khangura and Jaxon Hardy

Week 1

Lions (from Coach Stan)

The new kids on the block playing against the Longhorns of North Delta. Lions are back after a 5 year hiatus. The powerful defensive play of the Longhorns held the NSMF Lions to only one first down in the first half. NSMF Lions also played a sound defensive game with the only touchdown coming a remarkable single handed effort by the Longhorns player while being swarmed by 6 Lions.

In the second half the Lions made some changes and woke up scoring 19 unanswered points and only allowing the opponent to one first down in the second half. Lion’s offensive was dynamic and fluid with the 2 touchdowns scored against a strong defence. Zachariah Okot-Bitek a new player that has never played before scored on the first play to kick off the second half on a 50+ yard run. Mario Schmidt scored on a beautiful scamper as he shimmied and shaked his way into the end zone. Notable offence players also included; Lucas Peck scoring 7 points with his dynamic kicking ability, Sukhzara Sidhu showing flashes of what’s to come from this young Lion and some slick moves by Aryaan Dhaliwal with the opportunities he got with the ball.

Huge Defensive plays by Terrance Gamez, Saydee Lobelsohn, Lucas Peck, Mario Schmidt, and outstanding player of the game Sukhzara Sidhu.

Offensive Player of the Game: Mario/Zachariah

Defensive player of the Game: Sukhzara

Player of the week: Sukhzara

TBirds (from Coach Christian)

Any given Sunday a football team can enter the field of play full of confidence and bravado. The Tbirds were pumped to play there first game of the season. First half offence was just not in sync and couldn’t move ball forward. The Titans had TBirds pinned in there own half. Titans break through the defence for first score of the game. Second half starts with TBirds defence taking the field ready to stop the titans offence. TBirds Ishaan Khangura makes a beautiful pass to brother Aamir for a good gain down the field. Ishaan with the QB sneak but is stopped before getting past the goal line. Titans defense comes up big stopping the offence. TBirds defense was able to give offence another chance but unfortunately this given Sunday was not in the TBirds favour. Titans get the Pick and take it down the field. On the extra point attempt Aamir khangura gets the pick thwarting the extra point. This given Sunday did not go the TBirds way but we will work hard towards next weeks game and just maybe this will be our given Sunday

Player of the game. Aamir Khangura
